A website and portal for a family-run IT recycling company

The challenge

We Collect has been recycling IT and electrical equipment since 2012, collecting across Kent, London and the South East in its own vehicles and sending nothing to landfill. They do a lot: certified data destruction, computer recycling, commercial clearances, kitchen decommissioning, refrigeration and more.

They needed a website that makes that range easy to understand, shows why they can be trusted with sensitive data, and turns visitors into booked collections.

What we did

We designed and built a site around the question every visitor has: "can you take this?"

• "If it has a plug, a wire or a battery, we can take it": every service on one clear page, each with its own detail page
• A dedicated data destruction section explaining wiping, shredding and degaussing, and the certificate that comes with every job
• A four-step "how it works", from telling them what you have to receiving the paperwork
• "Book a collection" and the phone number always in reach, on every page and every screen size
• A secure staff and customer portal, built by Zopi
• Hosted on its own Zopi VPS, with HTTPS, backups and monitoring, and full admin and SSH access for the We Collect team

The results

We Collect now has a website that sets out everything they collect, explains their data destruction in plain English and makes booking a collection one click away. Behind it, staff and customers share a secure portal.
