Outlook keeps asking for your password

If Outlook keeps popping up for your password, these steps usually stop it.

Outlook usually asks again and again when something about your sign-in has changed.

  1. Check you’re online: can you open a website?
  2. Did you change your password recently, on another device? Type the new one when Outlook asks.
  3. In Outlook, go to File β†’ Office Account, choose Sign out, close Outlook, open it again and sign back in.
  4. Restart your computer. A proper restart (not just closing the lid) clears a lot of sign-in problems.
  5. Try Outlook on the web. If that works, your account is fine and it’s Outlook on this computer that needs a hand.

Still asking?

Raise a request or start a remote support session and we’ll fix it for you. Please don’t share your password with anyone, including us: we never need it.

Rather we just sort it for you?
