A shared mailbox is an address several people use, like info@ or accounts@. It doesnโt need its own licence or password.
Getting access
Raise a request saying who needs which shared mailbox, and whether they need to send from it. Once weโve given access, it usually appears in Outlook by itself within an hour, under your own mailbox. Restart Outlook if it hasnโt.
Sending from it
- Start a new email.
- If you canโt see the From box, show it from the messageโs options.
- Choose From, then the shared address.
Replies go back to the shared mailbox, so everyone with access can see them.
Good to know
- Emails you send from it are saved in your own Sent Items, unless we turn on saving them in the shared mailbox too. Ask us if youโd like that.
- In Outlook on the web, a shared mailbox may need adding: right-click Folders and choose to add a shared folder or mailbox.
