The second check on your work sign-in keeps your account safe even if someone gets your password. Setting it up takes a few minutes.
- When you sign in, Microsoft says More information required. Choose Next.
- On your phone, install Microsoft Authenticator from your app store.
- Back on your computer, choose Next until you see a QR code.
- In Authenticator on your phone, add an account, choose Work or school account, then Scan a QR code, and scan the code on your screen.
- Microsoft sends a test: approve it on your phone.
- Choose Done.
From now on, when you sign in somewhere new, approve it on your phone or type the number it shows.
